Hannon's Paper Suite Thus Far....

When Hannon and I first started working on her wedding we immediately discussed the desire for nice paper. We wanted a unique design made just for the couple and it just had to be letter pressed. The invites went in the mail a few weeks ago and I have to admit, I think we accomplished exactly what we we set out to do.........

A simple yet stunning paper suite!

Holly Hollon is the designer behind this project (check out her blog here). I first worked with Holly when she designed MariƩe Ami's new look. I was so pleased with her work that I just had to have her work on Hannon's suite as well.

THE SAVE THE DATE:

The back of the envelope has one of the two logos Holly created for Hannon and Cameron. The plane signifies the special engagement. If you didn't see that post, you must do so now!

The white square has a hand drawn design of all of Hannon's favorite flowers. The flowers and saying "Save The Date" are both letter pressed into the crisp white paper.

I love the little gray envelope that is attached the the white card! It is almost like opening another surprise!

Inside the gray envelope the guest will find a small peach piece of paper with a hand drawn sketch of the Stables where the wedding will take place.

The HC monogram will be carried throughout the rest of the wedding.

THE INVITATION:

Holly addressed the envelopes for us by hand. Don't you wish you could write like this!

The invitation was handwritten by Holly as well. I love how the envelope handwriting matches the invitation! The gray letter press turned out perfectly!

The sketch of the barn is my favorite! I was so glad we got to use it again on the RSVP cards!

Now we are on to the programs and weekend itinerary!

Mariee Ami Wedding: Blakely and Riley

Blakely Bowron and Riley Hill Taylor were married on July 9, 2011. I was so excited to get to work with this beautiful bride and wonderful mother Sandy. After weeks of searching for the perfect venue, we were thrilled to finally decide on Bromberg's in downtown Birmingham. This venue was just minutes from their family church The Cathedral Church of the Advent, where the ceremony was held.

The Advent has strict rules for floral design, but these beautiful arrangements set on either side of the alter added an elegant touch to the church.

The couple decided to use a matted picture from their engagement party as an alternative to the traditional guest book.

Blakely wanted a modern, minimalist look and K.G. Designs created just that. The glass cylinders, calla lilies, and candles were beautiful!

This wedding could not have gone more perfectly! Congrats to the new
Mr. and Mrs. Riley Hill Taylor!

Mariee Ami Wedding: Yaicha and J.D.

J.D. Brown and Yaicha Farr were married in March at Lake Martin. The bride and groom both grew up going to the lake so picking this destination spot was pretty easy. Having known this fun couple for years and years, I was not surprised with to hear that they had asked 40 of their closest friends to be in the wedding. These 40 people are one of the many reasons why the wedding weekend was such a blast.

Yaicha and I worked hard trying to make sure the guests would enjoy themselves for the entire weekend. Whether it was the welcome bags in the rooms upon arrival, having a karaoke machine hooked up in the wedding party suite for late night concerts or transportation for the entire weekend, the guests were our first priority!

One little obstacle that we worked around was the tiny church and an always growing guest list. This is a common problem for some Lake Martin brides. Instead of cutting friends from the guest list, the couple decided to have a small group attend the ceremony and invited the rest of their guests to the reception. The reception started at the same time as the ceremony so that everyone had something to do at 5:30. This really worked well and I would tell you to strongly consider this if you are faced with the same challenge.

The reception was held at the AMAZING Springhouse Restaurant! Yaicha had dreamed of having a "Michael Buble" play during the cocktail part of the reception. I couldn't get Michael himself, but as Yaicha's mom said, "I got pretty darn close" when hiring Matthew DeVine. Reception guests enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres, music and cocktails until Yaicha and J.D. walked in for their first dance. The party immediately began and not one guest left before the bride and goon. There were good times shared by all!!!
