Lean On Me...

Tonight's wedding was one like no other. I first introduced you to Anna months ago when I wrote about the invitation she made herself. I am tempted to post all of my iphone photos from tonight, but I am going to wait to get the photos from the photographer.

However, I did want to share a cool clip from the reception. The bride and groom can carry a tune like no other, but what is really fun is that the entire wedding party can to. What a talented group of people!

Introducing Mariée Ami

I am so excited to tell you about my new venture, Mariée Ami. Laurie Grantham and I have teamed together to launch a wedding planning studio in the heart of Mountain Brook Village. We really hope that the launch of our studio will bring more creative efforts, cohesive ideas and exceptional service to our wedding planning services. We want to be able to provide the type of service each bride desires whether it be assistance in organizing her budget and running the wedding day to full service and design. Come visit us in our new shop on Canterbury Road.

P.S.  Mariée Ami,  is pronounced (ma ree ah me) and means “bride’s friend” in french, the language of love.

A Swann Lake Wedding

While I was off working a wedding we had been planning for weeks, Katherine was working a Swann Lake wedding for us last weekend. We were not the planners of this wedding, but it is too beautiful not to share. We get calls just about every day from someone interested in booking this wonderful barn. For all you brides out there who have an interest in Swann Lake, check this wedding out.

Sorry the photos are so small....iphone cameras are great to have, but not so great when it comes to uploading photos to the blog!

Love these ideas!

We've been super busy this week getting ready for all of our June weddings, but took a minute to find a little mid week inspiration.....

These table assignments that are stuck in pots of lavender are such a pretty way to display the names. The pots are so simple but creative, and they smell good!

Yesterday, our design team worked on ideas for Hannon's fall wedding. We love the contrast of the white curtains against this rustic barn, and the big letters in moss are such a cute way to incorporate the couple's initials.

Gifts that Support

We are so excited to hear that Doree has these little necklaces made by a great designer in Jackson who has done jewelry for them in the past. The design is very simple but it's all you need to make a great statement. All the proceeds are going to aid tornado victims in Alabama.

They make great bridesmaids gifts and we are eager to spread the word!

You can check them out on Doree's website!

Kathy G. & Company's Blog Post this week!

Clair and John: A Relocated Affair to Remember
from Kathy G's Blog, posted on May 2, 2011

The gorgeous Clair Weaver and her dashing fiance, John Hanson, were to be married last Saturday at the Swan Lake Barn in Cahaba Heights, but the tornadoes that struck earlier in the week made that impossible. Everyone knows that moving a dinner party from one home to another down the block is a daunting task, but finding a new venue and dealing with the logistics for a entire wedding – with more than 250 expected guests - would require a minor miracle.

Enter wedding planner Neillie Butler of Gather Events and the Mountain Brook Club to the rescue!

The Mountain Brook Club turned lemons into lemonade, saving the day for our fab couple in allowing the venue change on less than three days notice. Cheers to their wonderful team for bending over backwards to help make Clair and John’s big day go off as planned.

And Neillie Butler of Gather Events truly proved her worth – and then some – this week. Working the phones, coordinating countless last minute changes, and just being there for everyone during the crazed final 72 hours leading up to the wedding, Neillie showed exactly why she’s one of the best planners in all the South.

Finally, 5PM Saturday arrived and the stunning couple was married at the Church of the Advent before moving on the The Mountain Brook Club for a 5:45PM reception.

Kathy G’s famous Shrimp & Grits station proved to be a big hit with all attendees.

Guests also enjoyed Mini BLT’s with Apple-Smoked Bacon, Ham-n-Biscuits, and Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto.

Also on the menu were Almond-Crusted Chicken Bites, Goat Cheese Logs with assorted Crackers & Pita Chips, a Fresh Fruit Display, and a fantastic Tortellini Salad.

Barb Sullivan of Barb’s Cakes, once again wowed the KG Team and guests alike – Providing a pair of magnificent cakes that were as delicious as they were gorgeous.

Spectacular lighting by Andy Tolar of Design Productions and fab florals by KG Designs’ own Andy Hopper made The Club truly amazing. “The Andy’s” had very little time to adjust their game plan with the change of venues, but you’d never know if from all the compliments their work received all night long.

It was truly a remarkable week capped off by a most magical wedding – Proving that no dilemma is too much to handle with a little teamwork and lots of determination.

MUCH thanks to the Mountain Brook Club for being so accommodating in Clair and John’s time of need.

And congratulations again to the cutest couple you’ve ever seen. You were true champions during a crazy week and it’s our most sincere wish that you live happily ever after!
