Mariée Ami Wedding: Julie and Matt Cate

Julie Fleming and Matt Cate were married on July 21, 2011 at Mountain Brook Community Church. Julie's sister, Brooke, is a friend of my sister's so I was excited to get the call about planning their wedding. Julie and Matt knew they wanted to get married at MBCC, but weren't sure about the reception venue. After considering various places around town, I took them out to see Swann Lake Stables. They immediately fell in love with it and put aside my thoughts on the summer temperature that would come along with it!

Julie is a beautiful girl inside and out with very elegant taste. She wanted her wedding to be "simple," yet beautiful, and that is exactly what she got!

Julie looked stunning in every dress she tried on at Ivory and White. After careful consideration, she decided on one that was perfect for her style of wedding.

Thirty minutes before the ceremony, the bottom fell out of the sky! It rained harder than I had seen in months. Thankfully, I had already moved to our back-up plan for the stables, but it was still a little nerve racking. The band insisted on being set up inside, regardless of the fact I had rented a tent especially for them. We were changing floor plans and running new electrical lines right up until the guests arrived. As it always does, everything worked out and the new floor plan worked beautifully!

The details of the wedding were simple. The logo Mariée Ami designed for Julie was used on fans and koozies to help keep things chilled, as well as the hotel gift boxes. The entire wedding was white, green and natural, so the burst of teal was a nice addition to the overall look of the weekend.

Barb Sullivan created two traditional cakes that had the same "simple" look as the rest of the reception. In fact, a number of guests remarked it was the best cake they had ever had.

Sparklers were a perfect way for Julie and Matt to end the night!
For future weddings, the sparklers will need to be outside!

Thank you Swann Lake Stables, Arden Photography, Kathy G., K.G. Designs, Barb Sullivan, Aabco Party Rentals, Intelligent Parking Systems and Southeastern Attractions for making this a night for everyone to remember!

Mairiée Ami Real Wedding: Rebecca and Adam Shiland

Adam Shiland and Rebecca Drube came to see me at the beginning on September to discuss their October 15th wedding at The Sonnet House. They wanted to talk to me about coordinating the wedding they had worked so hard on. Adam is an event planner in Atlanta so he knew and appreciated having someone in place to make sure all of his planning came together as he had hoped. I was honored to be chosen for this amazing wedding!

Food and music were very important to Adam and Rebecca so they hired the talented Robby Melvin from Salt Fine Catering and The Black Lilies for the entertainment. Robby Melvin knocked it out of the park with his organic and flavorful gourmet menu. The Black Lilies had warmed up at The Grand Old Opry the night before so they played their hearts out. The lighting and stage production was so impressive.

The look for this wedding was what I loved the most! Everything from the custom corn hole games with the couples wedding logo, to the lounge furniture in the yard, to the paper suite, hotel bags and colors, were wonderfully unique and came together perfectly! Mandy Majarik from Hot House Design Studio played a major role in the design. The colors and textures of the flowers were amazing!

When you have a wedding as perfect as this one, you better have a talented photographer to capture the day! This was the first time I had worked with Tiffany Hughes from Lucky Photograph, and I can assure you it will not be the last! WOW! Picking the photos to put on the blog was tough. She caught every minute of the day on film in a creative and beautiful way!

Other Vendors that we owe a huge thanks to.......
Roman Street- Ceremony Music
Sonia Davis- Logo and paper design
Shofar Stage Production- lighting and sound for the musicians
